It started in a season of change

Clétte started when our founder, Dominique, was postpartum.

Comfort mattered more than it ever had, and confidence still mattered too. She wanted underwear that felt soft and effortless without giving up on feeling feminine, pulled together, or like herself. Pieces she could actually live in through slow mornings, long days, and everything in between. Caring for a newborn, getting back to work, or just moving through a regular Tuesday.

What she found instead was the same tired trade off every woman knows. Comfortable but boring, or beautiful but digging into your sides by 2pm. She didn't want to pick one, so she made the thing she couldn't find.

Thirty-five years in the making

Dominique grew up in the underwear business. Her dad has spent over 35 years in underwear manufacturing and distribution, and she was raised around fabric swatches and factory conversations, hearing real talk about fit, quality control, and what actually makes a garment last past ten washes. That world sat in the background of her whole life, right up until she decided to build something of her own inside it.

Everything she learned about construction, fabric recovery, and durability goes into pieces made for the way women actually live now.

Honest pricing. We understand production costs and sourcing from the inside, so we can give you a premium feel without the designer markup. You should be able to restock without feeling ripped off.

Meet Dominique

Dominique was born in Hong Kong and raised on Oʻahu. Her dad is Dutch, her mom is Chinese, and she grew up with all of those worlds in the same house.

The inspiration is obvious in the underwear. The soft, easy, unhurried part comes from the islands. The elegant lines and clean shapes come from her European side.

She is a working mom of two, and her best ideas still start with something she wanted and could not find in this busy, full season of life.
